Around The World In Eighty Days is the second episode of the first season of Wings.
Synopsis[]
Fay discovers that a man who has been in the airport for several days is only minutes away from completing a two-year flying trip around the world. But due do to a promise he made to god when his trip began, he believes he will die as soon as he finishes his journey. Despite Fay's encouragement, he finally decides to retrace his long route around the world to get home.
Meanwhile, to help Helen achieve her dream of becoming a concert cellist, Brian suggests she wear a sexy dress to her audition for the Cambridge orchestra. But when she loses the job, she wonders what failed her: her musical ability or her dress? After receiving Joe's stunned opinion, Helen hurries off to practice.

Trivia[]
- Fay mentions that her husband died several years ago, but in A Terminal Christmas it is revealed that George Cochran died some time after Christmas Day 1989 and before the start of the series in April 1990. This may be a continuity error or it is possible Fay was referring to one of her other dead husbands or that she was simply lying.
- Plane in the scene of passengers boarding is the Cessna N121PB not Cessna N121PP.
- Lowell describes his theory for "cosmic potholes".
