Carlton Blanchard was an eccentric old man with some wealth on Nantucket known for being a nuisance to others. He was played by veteran actor William Hickey.
Bio[]
Carlton Blanchard was a wealthy island resident known for annoying people with endless questions, usually starting out with "Why do you think...." He once dated Jeanette Mather, the great-aunt of Lowell Mather. He first met Joe Hackett and Brian Hackett through a contest, conning them into flying them cross-country (Das Plane).
In 1993, he showed up at the airport out of boredom on his 70th birthday (suggesting he was born around 1923). After Helen Chapel gave him a birthday, he conned his way into becoming her house guest for two weeks with a non-existent son he claimed was a lawyer. When Helen learned the truth, she threw him out (The Houseguest).
During his near death experience, Joe and Helen Chapel almost buy his house from his nephew, Lewis Blanchard (A House to Die For).
