- Brian Hackett - "Did you just call me "Brian"?"
Alex Lambert - "Yeah."
Brian Hackett - "Well, how come you didn't call me "Slick" like you usually do?"
Alex Lambert - "Because I just saw how you play basketball."
- Alex Lambert - "So where is he?"
Brian Hackett - "Well, I guess it's time you learned the truth. There is no Joe. I made him up."
Alex Lambert - "Darn. I was hoping you were the imaginary one."
- Alex Lambert - "I had a date last night. Well, not a date. I went out."
Joe Hackett - "Do you believe this? I ask you out, no dice. Brian asks you out, you won't go. Now your going out with some totally new guy."
Alex Lambert - "Actually, it was Brian."
Joe Hackett - "You went out with Brian when you could have gone out some totally new guy?!"
- Helen Chapel - "Joe, I don't think Alex wants to discuss the details of her intimate details of her private life with the two of us, so go sit over there."
- Alex Lambert - "First we flew to Maine, and we found the most incredible place for lobster. Then after dinner, we just stumbled across this funky little, miniature golf course. Then on the way back to the plane, you won't believe what we found leaning against this old oak tree."
Joe Hackett - "A tandem bicycle."
Alex Lambert - "How did you know?"
Joe Hackett - "Congratulations, you just went on Brian Hackett's date package number seven."
Alex Lambert - "What?"
Joe Hackett - "Yeah, it's just one of those spontaneous little evenings he spent years perfecting."
Helen Chapel - "Right. He's got about ten of them, but this one rates the highest."
- Brian Hackett - "Boy. Wow. I never thought I'd see the inside of this place. It looks so different through my telescope."
- Joe Hackett - "The first time Brian ever fell in love was this girl, Krista Purcell. She was blonde, gorgeous, 17 years old. Brian finally gets up the nerve to ask her out and she laughs in his face. Well, of course, I can't blame her. He was only eight years old at the time."
Alex Lambert - "What's your point?"
Joe Hackett - "The point is I thought he would be crushed, but Brian just joked about it. That is how I know Brian is okay; ho jokes. When you kicked him out of here tonight, he didn't even crack a smile."
