George Lyle Bartlett was a retired maitre'd from New York that Fay met on a cruise. He was played by Norman Lloyd.
Bio[]
Lyle worked for 35 years as a maitre'd at one of the finest restaurants in New York. After retiring, Lyle began writing a book about his career called Right This Way (Bye, George).
While on a cruise, Fay and Lyle met and began their relationship (Burnin' Down the House (Part 2)). When Lyle came to Nantucket to visit, both were initially nervous, but they quickly reconnected. They even planned to marry quickly each other. However, when Fay learned that Lyle's first name was actually George at the altar, she couldn't go through with it (Bye, George).
