Grouses, Houses, and Bickering Spouses is the first episode of a two-part story arc and the twenty-sixth and final episode of the seventh season of Wings, and the 148th episode overall in the series.
Synopsis[]
Fed up with their current living conditions, Joe and Helen find their dream home but must sell their empty lot with a sinkhole to afford it. Just when it appears all is lost, their former contractor Felix makes an offer. Unfortunately, as Joe and Helen are celebrating their move with sex, an unattended lit cigar starts a fire burning Brian's home to the ground. Meanwhile, a string of bad luck quickly drains Antonio's tax refund check.

- On Joe's bathroom schedule whiteboard, each resident was color coded:
- Joe's statement of "Felix the contractor. The wonderful, wonderful contractor" is a reference to Felix the Cat an American animated television series (1958–1960) featuring Felix the Cat. The theme song started with "Felix the cat, the wonderful wonderful cat".
- To provide the appearance of demand for their lot, Joe recruited Roy and Fay to pose as interested buyers. They names Fay came up with for them in the moment was "Ray and Flo Shill".
