Harrison Kingsbury (or Harry) was the patriarch of the wealthy Kingsbury family on Nantucket.

Bio[]

Little is known about the life of Harrison Kingsbury, as he was a recluse. Helen spoke of him with some respect, as the Kingburies were one of the first families of Nantucket and helped to make it what it is today. Antonio Scapacci, however, had a lower opinion of the man. There was a time where Harrison Kingsbury had Antonio drive him around all day from one appointment to the next calling him a piece of dirt the entire time. Harrison Kingsbury also seemed to be a cheapskate and a welcher, despite his large wealth. When Antonio's bill came due, Harrison Kingsbury ran off without paying Antonio for all the work.

In his later years, Kingsbury became a recluse living in Miami. He did marry a much younger woman, Stacy, and planned to leave his fortune to her. However, before he could finalize the paperwork, his daughter sent him poisoned cognac. He died at age 92 from the poisoning (Death Becomes Him).

After his death, Eleanor Kingsbury hired Sandpiper Air to fly to Miami to pick up his remains. But because he drank too much the night before, a hungover Joe picks up the wrong casket. Unable to admit their mistake, Brian suggests that Joe be made up to look like Harrison and take his place in the coffin for the scheduled viewing until his actual body arrives. While in the coffin, Joe overhears Eleanor confessing to murdering her father and confronts her (Death Becomes Him).
