Klaus Sternberg was one of the top cellists in the world and Helen's teacher in Vienna.
Bio[]
Klaus Sternberg was at Helen's audition for the New England Chamber Ensemble. He was impressed with her performance and knowing the only reason Helen wasn't selected was because the conductor gave the spot to his sister, Sternberg offered to let Helen study with him for a year in Vienna, Austria. Although she was excited, Helen almost declined the offer because it would mean forcing Joe to leave Sandpiper Air. However, when Joe decided to put Helen's dreams above his own, Brian decided to do the same for Joe promising to keep Sandpiper open while they are in Vienna postponing his own plans to move to a tropical island and live off his inheritance (Final Approach (Part 2)).

- Although clearly different characters, Klaus Sternberg shares some similarities with Karl Spengler: both play string instruments at a concert level, both are Austrian, and they share the initials "K.S."
