Quotes[]

  • Stuart Davenport - "When I was running away from you, I realize two things. One: I'm really out of shape. Hahahaha hehe. And two: you deserved to know the truth."

  • Joe Hackett - "Helen, I read somewhere that you can have anybody killed for $10,000."
Helen Hackett - "Joe, don't be ridiculous. We only have $6,000 in the bank."
Joe Hackett - "Yeah, but I bet we could get a loan if we tell them what it's for."

  • Casey Davenport - "Question number two for another $10,000. Why did you really come back here?"
Stuart Davenport - "Because I love you, missed you, and I couldn't live without you."
Casey Davenport - "Oh, Stuart. Ehhhhhh! Maybe I didn't explain the rules of our game clearly enough. The more you lie, the more you lose!"
Stuart Davenport - "This is such a bad game."

  • Stuart Davenport - "You want the truth? I wanted to trick you into thinking I was broke, so you'd divorce me so I could keep the boat and all the money! I never thought you'd stay with me when I was such a loser. The Casey I knew would have dumped me in a heartbeat! You're not the woman I married."

Trivia[]

  • Casey's estranged husband Stuart was played by John Ritter, who married Amy Yasbeck (who played Casey) in real life in September, 1999, just a few years after this episode aired. The couple was married until Ritter's death in 2003. Ritter and Yasbeck previously played a married couple in Problem Child (1990) and Problem Child 2 (1991).
  • Recognizing Stuart when he's hit with a baseball at a Red Sox game on TV mirrors the way Brian found his mother in Mother Wore Stripes; While watching golf from Palm Springs, Brian saw his mother get hit by Pres. Gerald Ford's golf ball.
  • Although he is frequently mentioned, this episode is the first and only appearance of Stuart Davenport.
