Melinda McElvey was the mother of Kenny McElvey. At some point, her husband Dennis ran out on her and her son Kenny became very protective of her (All in the Family).
One day while waiting to pick up Kenny, Melinda met Brian and he asked her out on a date. Not wanting Brian to use his mom like he does other women, Kenny told Brian not to go out with her. However, Brian did go out with her but was severely bored. When Brian told Kenny it wasn't going to work out, it cause a rift between the two that Brian worked very hard to repair (All in the Family).
