Miriam "Mimsy" Borogroves was a wealthy heiress who briefly visited Nantucket and dated Brian Hackett. She was played by Tyne Daly.

Miriam "Mimsy" Borogroves was one of the richest women in New England, the sion of a old money from textile mills. When looking for investment opportunities, she reached out to the Nantucket Town Council and then traveled to Nantucket herself. Once she arrived on Nantucket, she was immediately taken with Brian Hackett. After two weeks, Joe got fed up with everyone fonning over Mimsy and her using Brian. Joe talked to Brian about self-respect and not being bought, and Brian broke up with her. Having been very hurt on the island, Mimsy decided not to invest in any property on the island. Brian did try to reconcile with Mimsy took him back only to immediately break up with him (My Brother's Keeper).

- Mimsy's dog is named Fitzy (My Brother's Keeper).
- Mimsy Borogroves was portrayed by Tyne Daly, Tim Daly's real life sister. The episode, My Brother's Keeper, was the first time the siblings co-starred in a production. Since this episode they have gone on to co-star in two more productions: the TV movie Execution of Justice (1999), and an episode of Judging Amy.
- The name "Mimsy Borogroves" appears to be taken from a passage of the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky: "All mimsy were the borogoves".
- For her performance in My Brother's Keeper, Tyne Daly was nominated for an "Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series" Emmy.
