My Brother's Keeper is the sixth episode of the third season on Wings, and the 34th episode overall in the series.

Synopsis[]

A wealthy woman, Mimsy Borogroves, comes to the island to buy some property. She takes a liking to Brian and Joe resents the attention everyone gives her for a piece of her money. Helen wants to be the agent to sell her the house, Roy wants money for his councilman causes, Fay wants a senior center, and Brian likes the toys Mimsy buys him. In the end, Mimsy agrees to buy Joe a plane but then decides after Brian rebuffs her that she is leaving and taking her money with her.

  • Mimsy Borogroves was portrayed by Tyne Daly, Tim Daly's real life sister. This episode was the first time the siblings co-starred in a production. Since this episode they have gone on to co-star in two more productions: the TV movie Execution of Justice (1999), and an episode of Judging Amy.
  • The name "Mimsy Borogroves" appears to be taken from a passage of the Lewis Carroll poem Jabberwocky: "All mimsy were the borogoves".
  • For her performance in this episode, Tyne Daly was nominated for an "Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series" Emmy.
