Rebecca Burton (or "R.") was a tween girl who lived on Nantucket. She was played by Ashley Johnson.
Bio[]
During the summer of 1996, Rebecca met Kyle Vane while he was staying in a rental house on Nantucket. They spend nearly everyday riding bikes together along with her younger brother. One day they were able to lose Rebecca's little brother and shared their first kiss. Later they climbed to the top of the lighthouse and screamed out that they love each other (Ms. Write).
For months, Rebecca kept writing to Kyle but never received a reply because she was sending the letters to the rental house and no forwarding address was left. When letters addressed to Kyle Vane started to pile up at their house, Brian read them and fell in love with the writer. Brian went searching for the writer and eventually found Rebecca. They shared a heart-to-heart moment and Brian encouraged her to love again despite things not working out with Kyle (Ms. Write).
