Sally McCabe (better known as Sconset Sal) was a local eccentric. She was played by Susan Tyrell.
Bio[]
Sally "Sconset Sal" McCabe was a native of Nantucket living in her decrepit houseboat in Sconset on the eastern side of the island. She was apparently close enough to Lowell Mather's parents that she was named his godmother. She performs all the maintenance her boat herself (including the plumbing) and would make money through gambling and letting tourists pay her to take pictures of her parrot eating birdseed out of her bellybutton (Marriage, Italian Style).
On New Year's Eve 1991, Sconset Sal and Roy Biggins had a one-night-stand and according to Sconset Sal it was the best night of Roy's life (Marriage, Italian Style).
When Antonio Scarpacci's visa extension application was denied by the U.S. government, Brian suggested that Antonio marry an American citizen and offered to find a woman willing to do it. Unfortunately, he could only find Sconset Sal, who agreed to marry Antonio if he paid to have her boat fixed. However, when she won the money she needed in a game of craps, she backed out of the marriage arrangement (though she did later attend the wedding of Antonio and Helen) (Marriage, Italian Style).
