Wings

Weeb Gilroy was a former mechanic and Lowell's late mentor.

Bio[]

Weeb Gilroy was a mechanic at Tom Nevers Field and inventor living on Nantucket who ate waffles everyday. While working as a mechanic at Tom Nevers Field, Weeb took a young Lowell Mather under his wing and began mentoring him and became like a second father to him. Even after this retirement, he and Lowell continued their friendship and worked on rebuilding their antique plane (Goodbye, Old Friend).

Weeb passed away in his late 80s in 1993, which devastated Lowell. After trying and failing to write a eulogy for Weeb, Lowell worked feverishly to complete their antique plane. Instead of attending Weeb's funeral and memorial waffle breakfast, Lowell and Joe took the plane for it's first flight.
