What About Larry? is the twenty-first episode of the seventh season of Wings, and the 143rd episode overall in the series.
Synopsis[]
In the terminal, Brian meets actor George Kennedy who starred in the 1970s movies Airport and Cool Hand Luke, and quickly becomes a nuisance. So much so, that George takes the intercom and orders Joe and the crew to get him off Nantucket. Meanwhile, Joe and Helen interview several contractors to rebuild their house, and eventually hire Larry Mohr. Unfortunately, Larry's wife leaves him and he ends up staying on their sofa. While Helen is sympathetic, Joe wants him back to work on their house. When Larry's birthday comes up, Helen has to get several people to celebrate with the sad sack, such as Casey, Antonio, Fay, and Roy. Even George shows up to get Brian to stop stalking him, and Joe gets him to boost Larry's morale which turns out to be more a critical outburst. Larry's wife, Cathy, shows up to dump off his possessions, but Joe and Helen get her to realize how much she really loves Larry. She pleads with Larry to move to Miami and start a restaurant. Desperate to stay married, Larry agrees, leaving Helen and Joe without a contractor.

Helen Hackett - "Joe, the man's wife left him."
Joe Hackett - "Yeah, but that doesn't mean you stop functioning, Helen. You get up, you go to work, get on with your life."
Helen Hackett - "Is That what you would do if I left you?"
Joe Hackett - "Well, I..."
- Helen Hackett - "Okay, let me give you a hypothetical."
Joe Hackett - "Oh, no, please, not one of you hypotheticals."
Helen Hackett - "What if I caught you in bed with another woman?"
Joe Hackett - "Okay, I'm listen. Who?"
Helen Hackett - "Big Pat from the bait shop."
Joe Hackett - "Oh now...Why would I sleep with Big Pat from the bait shop? Can't it be Danielle from the tire store?"
Helen Hackett - "Because it's my hypothetical and you'll sleep with whoever the hell I tell you to sleep with. And by the way, from now on, I take the car in for tires."
- George Kennedy - "Listen you! I have had it up to here with the calls, the notes, the chocolates, the following be all over the island. I'm on vacation here. I don't want you hounding me every minute. Now, you knock it off or I'm calling the cops. Got it?"
Brian Hackett - [excited] "I can't believe you came to my house!"
- Joe Hackett - "I'm Brian's brother, and, uh, if you want to get him off your back, I can arrange it, but you gotta do something for me."
George Kennedy - "Anything!"
Joe Hackett - "Make a speech for Larry."
George Kennedy - "Who's Larry?"
Joe Hackett - "That guy. He my contractor. It's his 40th birthday, his wife just left him, he's a basket case. Say something that get him back on his feet."
George Kennedy - "And you'll get that maniac off my back?"
Joe Hackett - "If you get that maniac back to work."
George Kennedy - "Deal."
Joe Hackett - "Okay. Say something inspiring."
George Kennedy - "You make me sick! Take a look in the mirror, you should be ashamed of yourself, lying there wallowing in self-pity. So your wife left ya? Big deal! Gett off your ass and be a man! Happy birthday to yous."
