When a Man Loves a Donut is the eighth episode of the seventh season of Wings, and the 130th episode overall in the series.
Synopsis[]
Brian is in the office watching the Three Stooges in "Disorder in the Court" when Casey enters unexpectant and questions Brian on why he thinks the Stooges are funny, especially with their choice of slapstick, such as a nose being twisted with plyers or a head in a vice. After a somewhat of a philosophical defense speech about the Stooges, Brian tries to convince Casey to give it a try, all to no avail. The next day, Brian, who has been gaining weight, comes in to work and sees the new meal baskets called "Picnic in the Sky," a new in-flight meal for Sandpiper Air introduced by Joe. Brian became disappointed when he learns the Joe couldn't go with him to the Mud Bowl that weekend because Joe and Helen are going to New Jersey to see Wayne and Lois, a couple they met on their honeymoon, who make homemade keys as they are locksmiths. Brian objects to the idea because he thinks it's a pathetic excuse to miss a big football game. However, Antonio comes by to show Roy what he has in the box. At first, Roy thinks Antonio ran over another squirrel and was going to give it a funeral again, but instead it was a pair of expensive shoes. Unfortunately, they are a little small, but Antonio is convinced that he needs to break them in a little. The next Monday, the trip for Joe and Helen becomes a a bust because all Wayne and Lois could talk about all weekend was keys, much to their annoyance, an attribute about which Fay neglected to warn them. Meanwhile, as far as the inflight meal baskets, they were only able to sell one basket because Brian was on an eating frenzy and almost sent the plane into a nosedive. Antonio is still keeping up appearances on how he is enjoying his new shoes, but it soon becomes clear that he is suffering in pain because the shoes were too small, and he's too proud to admit it, especially after buying them for $300.
